ooo sicky-oh
April 10, 2008Blah. Thats how I’m feeling today. I was feeling more like oohblah blah puke yesterday, but today I can’t think a bit more and have spent less time horizontal or cozied up to the porcelain throne. I got the bug that is going around. I always feel better about being sick, if everyone else is sick too. Otherwise I feel like a faker. So yeah, I’m feeling a bit better. I still slept for most of the day, but I haven’t puked since yesterday, so that’s good.
I realized halfway through yesterday’s puke day that I had a discussion due in English class. PANIC! ok so no big deal right. just drag my sorry excuse for a human being with crazy hair outta bed and get typing. Thats easy right? No! 300 words is all I needed, but they had to make sense. Who knows if they did or not. I guess I’ll find out whenever my teacher gets around to marking them. Who knows I might not be making sense right now!
So our band opens for Faber Drive tomorrow night!! Sorry if you don’t have tickets, they sold out within 3 days of going on sale. YAY! I’m pretty excited about it. I was worried there for a bit because of the ol’ pukedy puke, but I think it’ll be fine. Night before last I broke a stick in 3 pieces during practice. Good excuse to get more I say. I picked up a nice shiny new set of Vic’s today and I’m gonna try em out tonight at our last practice before the big Show. At practice I was noticing that the whole band was looking like someone stuck a fork in their shoes or something. Everyone looked pained. It was rough. So I told them all they had to smile more or we were going to get booed off stage. not cool to happen in a sold out show, me thinks. (ooh cool, when I’m sick I end up thinking piratey things) So I made a point of being a crazy drummer with the biggest grin on my face ever. The way we are set up during practice everyone faces me so at one point they had to stop cause they were laughing so hard at me. it was funny. So that’s the plan for tomorrow. The crazier the better!
Emily had her first full day of daycare today. It’s hard to see my little girl all growed up. We forgot to send a sucky for nap time so Morgan came home to get it. When he got there Emily poked her head around the corner and said “Hi Daddy”, and then went back to what she was doing. She really likes daycare. So do much-more-work-done mommy and daddy. One more week until exams makes daycare timely. I need to get everything done as fast as possible because 2 of my courses run longer, but I’d like to have them done, so if I need to find a job for the summer I won’t be trying to finish my courses too.
We are looking forward to Emily’s birthday next week. We got her a couple of cool things at wallymart and this cool game store in PG last weekend. I’m pretty sure I’ve decided which cake to make her. I’m getting some tips from a friend this week. She has fondant cakes down to an art. The other thing we are doing different for em’s birthday is with the presents. I got an idea from a magazine. I read about this company that helps parents deal with the mass of toys at birthday parties. I won’t use this company because it’s in the states and I don’t love their charity, but we’ve decided not to have presents at the party. If anyone wants to give her something we ask that they give cash and we are going to give it as a family gift to our sponsor child’s family. She’ll get a couple of things from us and a couple from her grandparents, but we’d rather give some money to a family that doesn’t have much than to a kid who has everything. It’s a bit weird to ask for cash, but I think once everyone figures it out it’ll be great.
