I’m having an awesome day. The youth got a new sound board for Morgan to play with and Emily’s car seat came in today so we both had stuff to figure out. It took me forever to figure out how to adjust the car seat to actually fit Em. I love it tho. Its great colours and it even has a cup holder/cappuccino machine. Emily likes the new seat so much better already. Her legs aren’t all smashed up against the back seat. She still has to be rear facing until she gets a bit bigger, but this seat is definitely more comfy for her.
Emily hardly crawls anymore. She is getting so good at walking she doesn’t like to crawl. Its cute. She can even pick something off the ground without falling. Last night she tried to run. I just about died. It was so funny. She ran for about 3 feet then did a nice big head dive. Got a bit ahead of herself.
She is saying so much more now too. I didn’t realize it because lots of her words just sound like sounds. If you say “what noise does a doggie make?” she says “oof oof”. And she make car sounds and sheep sounds. She still says “uh oh” to everything and “ah da” for all done. “ma ma” is still reserved for whining only and she sings songs all day about her “da da”. Its really cute. She know at lots of signs too.
I did the most motherly thing Ive ever done for Emily yesterday. I made her scrambled eggs. I couldn’t bring myself to try them, but she liked them so they must have been ok. I made them again for my mom today to try so I’d know if they were ok. Morgan thinks it’d be funny if I started liking eggs because I’m going to have to make them for Emily. I doubt it.
I wrote a song today. I haven’t wrote a song in quite a while. It kind of came to me fast too. I was pretty excited. I guess I didn’t really write it. The psalmist wrote it in psalm 119. I think we might even sing it at church. I recorded it at the church before worship practice, but the recording doesn’t have the drums mic’d so I’m not putting it up here. Anyways. I’m just having fun with my electric guitar.

I’m feeling all nostalgic today. Well actually it’s only because I didn’t do laundry so I’m wearing my t-shirt from our high school Cuba trip. Its the brightest shirt I own so I look like a homing beacon, but I’m ok with that.
I haven’t got to Blog in the last couple of days. Things have been busier than normal. My life has undergone a very big change. No I’m not pregnant!!(why does everyone think that? and whats with people all having dreams that I am??)
We got a new car!!! YAY!. Freedom. It the prettiest lil silver Jetta. My Father-in-Law was so excited to bring it up and surprise us that he drove all night and slept in the car. I walked right by him sleeping in the car and got in my truck to go to church. It was so funny. Morgan and I are currently working on a name for the car and as of yet we haven’t even decided if its male or female. I’ll let you know whenever I do.
Emily is having a nap so I get a few minutes to myself. I’m glowing still because my friend Georgia moved back to 100 mile. She was living in Saskatchewan for a long time. Her son Flynn and Emily are supposed to be the same age, but do to Emily’s impatience well…hes younger by a month. I’m excited to have another little friend for Emily to play with. Another little boy…goodness all boys. Just like Mommy I guess.
This week I’m on the quest for amazing healthy Toddler food. I have a few things that rock, but I want better Ideas. I saw this awesome book at the library, but we owe them money for late fees so that’ll have to wait. I wish they took interac. I never can remember to carry cash when I think about going to the library. I’ve been searching online for good Ideas, but my idea of healthy and other people’s idea of healthy are very different. I don’t think a toddlers favorite food should be kraft dinner. I don’t think it should be anyones favy. We don’t even buy it anymore. YAY! I love the stuff, but thats no reason to eat crap all the time. I think I’d like to get a pressure cooker to can some baby soups and lentils and stuff. Right now Emily loves beans. Hooray for fibre!!

What a Mc-awesome day. It stayed gorgeous all day. When we got to Loon Lake I put Emily down for a nap and Roxy and I went exploring. We took the camera too so you’ll see some of those at the end of this post. We went across the creek and even found a couple of places we hadn’t been before. Mostly because of this rule about crossing through fences. I mean it was a good idea and all. A 10 year old would make a lovely snack for a bear. As usual I couldn’t help myself I ended up with my shoes off wading out to a log to stand on it. I didn’t get too too wet. Well at least I dried off before we got back. I think I still have prickle bushes in my jeans. Poppa made us wear these…uh…sweet…hats.
We fixed up the golf course. Put up the flags and de-cow-poop-ified everything. Then we had a round of golf. I’ve discovered that my long game is great. My short game…not so much. My dad got a hole in one. Roxy did too, but we weren’t playing that hole. haha. Overall it was a great day. We even made it home in time to see Morgan before he had to go to bed for work in the morning.
I had a bath with Emily tonight. I mostly stopped doing that except for the occasional shower. I don’t think she’s to big yet, but she usually has more fun playing by herself. Tonight we both needed a bath and I needed to keep her up longer before bed so into the bath we went. Em is so fascinated with my belly button ring. It’s funny. she pokes me and says “ohhhhh”. We had a really nice cuddle, Emily sang me a very nice song she made up and then I got her ready for bed.
She has been more cuddly lately. It’s nice. I’m ok with her not being cuddly cause I think I’m the one who really likes it most. Pastor Rick and Marci came over the other day and Emily crawled up to Pastor Rick and when he picked her up she just lay her head down on him and cuddled. It was so cute. She did that again with my Grampa today. I love it when she’s like that with other people.

You have to check out the Way Back Machine. so cool. It caches web pages from forever ago. I found quickdot and my old web page. Morgan was looking up CNN’s page from September 11. Its pretty cool and man my old page was ugly!
We are going road trippin again today. It’s my Gramma birthday so we are going to Loon Lake. I’m stoked. Morgan has to work so thats sucky. I’m going to take some more cute pics today. It looks to be another gorgeous day for picture taking.
I’ve been “camping out” in psalm 119 for the last few days. I’ve been really enjoying the things I’m learning. My favorite part so far is in verse 107 where it says “…the willing praises of my mouth.” Its cool because very often its easy to praise God because its a good idea or because you should, but not always in the “…the willing praises of my mouth.” I don’t know I just found it intriguing.
Yesterday I was complaining about not getting to do enough cardio at my new gym so Morgan suggested I run to the gym, only a few blocks from here. So I did yesterday. I ran for 5 minutes and then walked for 3 and I was there. It felt great. I walked back because I wanted to listen to a podcast and podcasts aren’t good workout tunes. I think I’m going to try to run at least a couple days a week. It’s a good run too because It’s totally uphill. Nothing like being good and sweaty.
Well I have to get Emily up and get ready for Loon Lake. So I’d best not dawdle.

I’m pretty pleased with myself. I’s say proud, but pride is bad. So I’m just pleased. Pastor Rick Preaches without note so I tried it last night at youth. It went really well. I’ve been learning some new ways to remember what I’m preaching about without notes. I am now in love with one certain white board. *mmm my coffee is good this morning*. Last night I spoke about the dichotomy(note: using a word like dichotomy at youth would be like saying “I’m an English teacher on a power trip”. I just used it in my blog as I found it fitting) of being a Christian. There are many admirers of Jesus, but few disciples. It’s not an easy thing to be a disciple. To be a disciple is to live as Jesus lived. You cant be a doctor by simply admiring a doctor. That would only make you friends. To be like a doctor takes work, schooling or study and dedication. I’m afraid the conclusion I’ve come to is that this whole being a Christian thing is no stroll in the park. I’ve been listening to Matt Chandler’s Podcast. I’ve been finding it really encouraging. In his series on Rhythm he talks about alot of whats really been on my heart lately.
I’m looking forward to today. We don’t have a really busy day planned. I’m meeting with one of my youth after school and then a worship practice and thats it. I’m hoping the weather stays good because we haven’t really been able to walk with Emily much in the last week. We really wanted to go walk around Sepa Lake, but that was a no go due to rain. Silly rain.
We have this new problem in our house. His name is Morgan and the problem is the discovery of non-electronic items on eBay. Previously it was just really expensive thing Morgan would look at on eBay and that would keep him from buying all of it. I’ve really let go of bidding on kids stuff for a while. My dad bought some cowboy boots on eBay and Morgan realized there might be other cool stuff he could buy. The problem being that Morgan has expensive taste even in used clothes. Oh well I guess it could be worse…He could collect ashtrays.
